The 91±¬ÁÏ is now fifth on Kiplinger’s of best values among U.S. public universities, according to a new ranking published this week. , the 91±¬ÁÏ placed No. 7.
The magazine defines value as a high-quality education at an affordable price.
In creating the list, Kiplinger says that it considers strong academics, including a competitive admission rate, a low student-to-faculty ratio and a record of getting students out of school on time. It looks for schools with reasonable price tags, solid financial aid for students who qualify, and low average debt among students who borrow. For the public colleges list, the magazine ranks the schools according to in-state costs, and calculates out-of-state costs separately for the out-of-state ranking.
Kiplinger’s data show that the cost for in-state students, after need-based aid, was $9,665 per year at the 91±¬ÁÏ. Average debt at graduation was $19,880.
Earlier this month, 91±¬ÁÏ ranking that rated schools based on value and 91±¬ÁÏ Bothell came in at No. 2.
