A member of the British House of Lords is scheduled to deliver the on Thursday, Feb. 21st, as part of the 91±¬ÁÏ School of Nursing’s Centennial celebrations and the Nursing Now initiative in the State of Washington.

, a professor of nursing and alternate chair of the global Nursing Now Initiative which launched locally this week, will speak about the transformational role that nurses can play to achieve health equity for all populations and eliminate disparities.

The annual Soule lecture features prominent nursing and health care leaders and is supported through the Elizabeth Sterling Soule Endowed Fund, which honors the founding dean of the School of Nursing.

The lecture is scheduled for Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a celebratory reception to follow and will take place in the Husky Union Building, North Ballroom. Please register .

The keynote talk caps a week of activities in Seattle designed to highlight local examples of nurses having a positive impact on providing access to quality health care.

The 91±¬ÁÏ School of Nursing is the lead organization shepherding in Washington state, and a co-lead for the national Nursing Now USA initiative. The global Nursing Now initiative, launched in February 2018, is run in collaboration with International Council of Nursing and the World Health Organization. The effort seeks to highlight nursing leadership, diversity in nursing, workforce development and public policy to support healthier and safer communities.
