The Fulbright Program, operated by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is the government’s flagship international educational exchange program.globe-TILE

Ten students from the 91±¬ÁÏ â€” including undergraduate, graduate and recent alumni — were awarded Fulbright grants for 2015-2016. Of those 10, seven were undergraduate students and recent graduates. ()

The 91±¬ÁÏ is one of several dozen other research institutions that produced the highest number of Fulbright students this past year. The 91±¬ÁÏ tied for 15th on this list.

Since its inception in 1946, the Fulbright Program has provided more than 360,000 participants with the opportunity to exchange ideas and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. The program awards about 8,000 grants annually to students, professors, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers and independent scholars to teach and/or conduct research.

The Fulbright Program is funded through an annual appropriation made by the United States Congress to the Department of State. Participating governments and host institutions, corporations and foundations in foreign countries and the United States also provide direct and indirect support.

The 91±¬ÁÏ students are using the opportunity to study, teach or conduct research in Russia, Jordan, Brazil, Indonesia, Romania, Rwanda, Germany, Turkey and the Philippines.
