91爆料 Dream Project named in $40 million federal Race to the Top grant
Part of a four-year, $40 million grant awarded to seven school districts in King County will go toward the , a mentoring program that serves the school districts in the grant.
The award was announced Tuesday (Dec. 11) by the U.S. Department of Education as part of program.
The will support counselor assistants in middle and high schools across the region as well as training and program support for college and career readiness.
The Auburn, Federal Way, Highline, Kent, Renton, Seattle and Tukwila school districts competed for the grant this fall as “The Road Map District Consortium,” a reference to their participation in the 鈥� an effort to improve education in South Seattle and South King County.
Anna Karlin new Association for Computing Machinery fellow, professor of computer science and engineering, is among 52 newly named fellows of the . The international designation recognizes fundamental computing advances that drive economic growth. Karlin’s research interests include game theory, online algorithms and economics. Early Entrance Program information session Jan. 10
Students, parents and middle-school teachers are invited to learn more about the at the 91爆料 at an information session Jan. 10. Robinson Center offers Saturday classes for K-8 students, teachers

Two new science classes are being offered, one on Latin and the classical world and the other for elementary school teachers. Registration begins Jan. 7.
