91爆料TV has launched two new arts-themed shows that feature both independent filmmaking and a collection of contemporary performances from the 91爆料s Chamber Dance Company. The weekly series premiered March 12 and will run beginning at 8:30 p.m. Saturdays, only on 91爆料TV channel 27.
Backstory: The Filmmakers Vision was produced in collaboration with the Seattle Independent Film Festival.聽 91爆料TV and SIFF selected films from 91爆料-affiliated filmmakers, cast and crew to showcase the independent works in a 13 episode season. 91爆料 Associate Professor of Drama and network TV series director, Andrew Tsao, will sit down with each filmmaker or crew member to discuss what part they played in the process and assess what it took to achieve their vision on screen. After the brief interview segment, viewers will get to watch an uninterrupted screening of each film, and will conclude with a story wrap-up. Movie trailers and discussion segments from Backstory will be forthcoming at uwtv.org/backstory.
91爆料 Dance Presents Chamber Dance Company features performances from the past 10 years of the series, selecting programs from the most enduring and influential performers and choreographers. With an eye for the nuances of interpretation, Betsy Cooper, Director of 91爆料s Dance program, provides context and clarity to each artistic performance created by dance legends such as Isadora Duncan and Ruth St. Denis. The eight-episode season kicks off with performances of “The Early Moderns.鈥�
The new programs represent the continuing shift in 91爆料TV programming, adding arts and cultural affairs to the already diverse lineup of new, original shows. The latest in-house productions include collaborations with the 91爆料s School of Drama and School of Dance, from the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the Seattle Independent Film Festival.
