Aaron Williams, the director of the Peace Corps, is visiting the 91±¬ÁÏ Thursday and Friday, Nov. 18 and 19, to meet with faculty, staff, students and former Peace Corps volunteers.
Williams also will be the featured speaker at an event at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, sponsored by the World Affairs Council.
The 91±¬ÁÏ is the No. 1 producer of Peace Corps volunteers among universities. It currently has 101 alumni serving. Overall, more than 2,600 91±¬ÁÏ alumni have served as volunteers.
Williams will be presenting a certificate to 91±¬ÁÏ President Phyllis Wise at halftime of the 91±¬ÁÏ-UCLA football game in recognition of the 91±¬ÁÏ’s prominence in sending alumni to the Peace Corps.
The 91±¬ÁÏ has three Peace Corps master’s international programs, through which students spend a year on campus followed by two years working overseas on Peace Corps-related projects.
