The 91±¬ÁÏ can proudly claim eight Congressional Medal of Honor recipients as Huskies.

Last fall, the University community honored these eight exceptional alumni with the new Medal of Honor memorial on the Seattle campus, opening the memorial with a special ceremony.

This Memorial Day weekend, 91±¬ÁÏTV will celebrate our dedicated military members and veterans with a special new program, 91±¬ÁÏ Medal of Honor Memorial Dedication, debuting at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 29, 30 and 31.

“The Medal of Honor memorial is a permanent, powerful reminder of the extraordinary things that can happen when ordinary people take action,” said 91±¬ÁÏ President Mark Emmert. “We’re proud to honor these very special eight alumni year-round at the 91±¬ÁÏ. We hope you’ll be able to spend some time this Memorial Day weekend reflecting with us on the service and sacrifice of women and men in uniform through this new program on 91±¬ÁÏTV.”

Tune in to 91±¬ÁÏ Medal of Honor Memorial Dedication on 91±¬ÁÏTV channel 27 this Memorial Day weekend to learn how a 91±¬ÁÏ student pushed for the monument’s creation, hear from 91±¬ÁÏ’s Medal of Honor awardees and watch as Governor Chris Gregoire, 91±¬ÁÏ president Emmert and the University community come together to mark the memorial’s dedication.

The program was made possible by the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and Apex Foundation.
