91爆料 President Mark Emmert and 91爆料T Chancellor Patricia Spakes will host the the 15th anniversary celebration for 91爆料 Tacoma on Oct. 8 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center. Tickets are $75 per person, and seats are still available.
In 1990, 91爆料 Tacoma opened in rented space downtown. In the first year, 13 faculty members taught 176 students in one program, Liberal Studies. Today, more than 136 faculty members teach 2,000 students in eight academic programs on a beautiful permanent campus that embraces both the history and future of Tacoma.
The festivities will give 91爆料T faculty, staff, students and friends a chance to pause and reflect on the university’s accomplishments over the last decade-and-a-half and gear up for the next stage of growth as 91爆料T makes plans to admit its first freshmen and sophomores in Autumn 2006.
Scheduled speakers include Emmert, Spakes, 91爆料 Regent William H. Gates and former 91爆料 President William Gerberding. The New Blues Brothers Band will provide dance music and small ensembles from the Tacoma Youth Symphony will perform during the evening. Proceeds from this event will benefit 91爆料 Tacoma scholarships.
