The following is a statement by 91爆料 Acting Provost David Thorud on today’s appointment of Denice D. Denton, dean of the 91爆料 College of Engineering, as the next chancellor of the University of California’s Santa Cruz campus:
“Denice Denton has been an outstanding engineering dean at the 91爆料 and implemented numerous innovations to the education of engineers. She has helped foster a climate of interdisciplinary collaboration across the University and also been a staunch advocate for diversity in its broadest form. We congratulate her on this appointment to a leadership position at one of the University of California’s more progressive campuses. She has been an exceptional leader here at the 91爆料, and we will miss her many contributions. We do take some pride in the fact that her administrative skills, honed at the 91爆料, will be applied at an even higher level of responsibility in California.”
