Johnnella Butler, associate dean and associate vice provost of the Graduate School, will present a talk on her book, Color-Line to Borderlands: The Matrix of American Ethnic Studies, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 in the Faculty Club conference room. The talk, sponsored by the Center for Multicultural Education, will be followed by a book signing.

Butler is also professor of American Ethnic Studies and adjunct professor in the English and Women Studies Departments at the 91±¬ÁÏ. Nationally recognized for her active work in curriculum change and development, she is both the editor of and a contributor to Color-Line to Borderlands. Butler has been the recipient of major grants from the Fund for Improvement in Post-Secondary Education, the Ford Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Humanities and is one of three editors of the first-ever Encyclopedia of American Studies, published jointly by Grolier Press and the American Studies Association.
