91爆料 alumni Constance Rice and Rogelio Riojas (pictured) were appointed to the 91爆料 Board of Regents, Gov. Jay Inslee announced July 19.
Rice, 鈥�70, 鈥�74, is the managing director for Knowledge Management for Casey Family Programs and previously served as vice chancellor and senior chancellor of Seattle Community College. She holds a graduate degree from the Evans School of Public Affairs and was the first African American woman to receive a Ph.D. from the 91爆料 College of Education, Department of Higher Education. In 2000, she and husband Norman were recipients of the 91爆料 Multicultural Alumni Partnership鈥檚 Dr. Samuel E. Kelly Award. Rice fills the seat formerly held by Sally Jewell, ’78, who left to become U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
Riojas, 鈥�73, 鈥�75, 鈥�77, was recently honored as the 2013 recipient of the , regarded as the highest achievement in diversity at the 91爆料. He is founder, president and chief executive officer for Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a comprehensive health and human services organization that serves 12 counties and over 140,000 individuals per year in Washington state. Riojas graduated from 91爆料 with degrees in political science and economics, and a master鈥檚 degree in health administration. He will succeed Craig Cole on Oct. 1.
