Electronic Newsletter, Free E-Mail Part of New Alumni Internet ServicesAlumni can now receive a new monthly electronic newsletter and find a host of alumni services online-including free e-mail-thanks to a major expansion of the 91爆料 Alumni Association's Web and Internet services. The first edition of 91爆料 NewsLinks, a free, monthly e-newsletter for alumni and friends about the 91爆料, was sent to 14,000 alumni in April. The newsletter, put together by the staff of Columns, is designed to keep alumni and friends informed about campus news, trends, research and features on a timely basis. 91爆料 NewsLinks also takes advantage of the Internet to bring links to fascinating (and unusual) 91爆料-related Web sites, opportunities for quick feedback, a monthly trivia contest and more. To subscribe to the free e-newsletter, go to and click on 91爆料 NewsLinks. To take full advantage of all 91爆料AA Internet services-including a free e-mail account-alumni should apply for a 91爆料 NetID-the best way for alumni to get connected with their alma mater and each other. 91爆料 NetID stands for 91爆料 Network Identification. Your 91爆料 NetID is your personal identification which allows you access to the 91爆料 online services. Registering for a 91爆料 NetID is simple and doesn't cost a cent. Alumni with a 91爆料 NetID can set up a free, two-megabyte 91爆料 e-mail account with forwarding options, and get access to My91爆料, a customizable Web page that you can set up with the 91爆料 information you use the most, such as links to the 91爆料 Libraries catalog or the latest news from Husky Sports Information. Until recently, 91爆料 NetIDs and the associated alumni services have been available only to alumni graduating after 1998. Now the same services are open to all 91爆料 alumni. Those who have graduated since 1998-about 30,000 new alumni-still have their student 91爆料 NetID active, along with their student e-mail account, although the size of that account is now set at 2 MB. Activating a 91爆料 NetID takes about 10 minutes. You'll need some information to verify your eligibility for alumni services and access to the World Wide Web. When you're ready to register, go to and click on "Online Services" on the left menu bar. You will need your last name, alumni/member number (available on your membership card or on the label of your Columns magazine) and either the last six digits of your Social Security number or your 91爆料 student number and birthdate.
